EDWARD SATO

My Roots & Journey "I am an artist from Taytay, Rizal, born in 1991, and my art is centered on the power of love. My path to this calling had many twists and turns—it was a journey of faith, service, and self-discovery."

Early Calling & Education "I have loved art since I was a child, often joining contests in high school. Serving as a Knight of the Altar and decorating the church gave me an early glimpse of how I could use my skills to serve others. After realizing Architectural Drafting wasn't for me, I pursued Fine Arts with the support of Msgr. Peter Cañonero."

The Seminary & Spiritual Growth "When I entered the seminary to study for the priesthood, I feared I’d have to stop creating. Instead, I found ways to paint and lead the arts committee. Those years profoundly changed how I view the world, giving me the strong beliefs I now express in my work."

Finding My Signature Style "After leaving the seminary in 2019 and joining the Artipolo group in 2021, my passion grew and led to a breakthrough. I discovered my signature style, 'Heart Pointillism,' while creating Kahulugan ng Buhay (The Meaning of Life) for a national contest. Although the painting was a finalist, the real prize was finding a mode of expression born from my life’s journey."

A Mission of Love "Heavily inspired by the Focolare Movement and its spirituality of love, my art shifted from a habit into a mission. I believe that everything is made of love, and 'Heart Pointillism' is how I show this. I carefully paint thousands of small hearts, where each one represents a feeling, a memory, or a connection."

The Big Picture "From a distance, these small hearts merge into one big image—just as small moments of love join together to build a whole life. Today, as a member of the Artist Community of Taytay, I continue to share the message that every part of our story is a piece of a bigger picture made of love."
